The aborted fetus will be a person very soon, if it isn't one already.
It doesn't make sense that a fetus just a few weeks away from personhood should have no rights. In the case of people we should err on the side of caution.
-
The fetus can feel pain even before it becomes a full person.
We protect animals from pain and suffering. We should do the same in the case of fetuses.
-
Abortion is not part of God's plan.
A fertilized egg is a clear expression of God's intention to produce a baby.
-
A fetus, even an embryo, has rights as a human being.
It really doesn't matter whether the fetus is a "person," in the sense of being developed enough. We don't euthanize people with developmental disabilities.

Because there is no general consensus on abortion, we can't restrict it.
We can't agree about when a fetus becomes a child. This means that abortion is a matter of individual conscience, not government dictate.

A woman has the right to make choices about her own body.
Pregnancy, especially early on, is a bodily process -- like breathing, or metabolism. As such it is hers to decide about.
